7 Facebook Advertising Tips to Try Right Now
More than two billion people use Facebook. That’s an incredible market that you could be advertising to, but Facebook advertising requires particular skills.
In this guide, we’re going to give you some key Facebook advertising tips that can make your campaigns a lot more successful.
Are you ready to learn what you need to do to get the most out of Facebook advertising? Then read on and find out more!
1. Add a Custom Call-to-Action
A call-to-action, or CTA, is the button that shows in the bottom right of your ad. It could be “click here,” “shop now,” or “learn more.” In essence, a CTA is something that tells the reader to take a specific action.
While the stock ones that Facebook offers are solid, there might be a better option for your business! This is where a custom CTA comes in.
In the “text and links” section you see when setting up an advert, you can make the CTA specific to your business and your customers. A custom one that’s better suited to your customers can really increase clicks!
2. Use Carousel Ads
Carousel ads are a boon for advertisers: they let you show off multiple products at once, which can give you a better return on investment, and they’re also interactive. Their layout compels people to click through so that they can get a better look at all the products you have on show.
Carousel ads can also be used to tell a story about your products. If you want to show off a range of products that work well together, a carousel is a natural opportunity for this.
3. Don’t Neglect Video Content
Some people choose not to use video in their ads but Facebook’s algorithm really likes video content (in fact, you might be surprised to know that Facebook considers itself a video marketing platform), and by using it, your ad will be seen by more people.
Videos are more engaging too, and also let you show off your products and services in action. If a picture speaks a thousand words, videos speak 10,000.
We’d recommend using video content as a regular part of your advertising strategy.
If you’re not completely comfortable with video on a personal level, don’t write it off. Create an interactive video featuring your product or services in Canva that is perfectly sized for the Facebook advertising platform.
4. Use Round Numbers for Your Pricing
This trick may seem a little odd, but it’s a great way to get more people to click on your ad. When you’re advertising your product, price it at a round number. So instead of pricing something at $11.99, price it at $12.
People tend to process round numbers faster, so they will spend less time thinking about the price and more time clicking on your ad.
5. Use a White Background On Your Ads
A white background attracts more clicks than any other background. While we don’t quite know the science behind it, we know that it attracts people’s eyes more than any other color or tone.
A white background also helps any other colors in your ads pop and stand out which, in turn, can help ‘stop the scroll’.
These next two tips may be obvious but you’d be surprised at how many advertisers miss the mark.
6. Target Specific Groups
One of the best features that Facebook advertising has is its unique ability to target very specific types and groups of people.
You can create a target audience based on age, gender, language, where they are located and a plethora of their interests, as well.
For instance, you could target males between 18–35 yr old who lives in New York City and have an interest in classic cars, BMWs, or car modifications who eat peanut butter sandwiches (well, that last one might be a little difficult but you get the gist).
Obviously, the more specific that you get, the less exposure your advert will have. However, with very well-planned and precise targeting, you can get a better conversion rate than you would with a more broad campaign and therefore, get a better return on ad spend.
7. Keep Track of Your Performance
You only have a limited budget to play with when designing and implementing your ad campaigns. Therefore, you need to keep track of how they perform so that you can shift your budget — put more money into the best-performing campaigns and optimize or turn off the under-performing campaigns.
The Facebook Ads Manager dashboard makes this decision-making process easy.
